Patient with Meniere’s Disease:
The client is a 53-year-old lawyer who travels internationally. He has noticed progressive sensorineural hearing loss, tinnitus that is interfering with his job performance, and occasional incapacitating vertigo. The health care provider is suspects that the client is suffering from Meniere’s Disease.
1) Pathophysiology of meniere's disease include hearing problems,vertigo, tinnitus, pressure sensation in ear etc.
The client have tinnitus and sensorineural hearing loss which is seen in a person who suffers from meniere's disease.
2)Diagnosis.
Balance assesment,hearing assessments are used to assess the patient of he/she has meniere's disease.
3)Weber and rinne tests are used to know of one have sensorineural or conductive hearing loss.Audiogram is also a hearing loss test.Electronystagmogram is a test which is used for people who have vertigo along with hearing disorders.MRI used to know changes in inner ear which result in hearing loss.
4) Medication.
Duiretics such as triamterene,anti vertigo medication such as diazepam,meclizine etc.
Diet.
Healthy food such as fruits , vegetables should be rated canned and salted foods should be avoided along with caffeine etc.Smoking should also be avoided.
