name and discuss three different crisis situations in which a person might be victimized and also address how steps can be taken to assist with these situations when they do occur.
Three different Crisis situations are
1.loss of job (economic crisis)-it creates lot of stress to an
individual and causes to social distress and also psychological
imbalance related to failure in work place and lack of financial
resources.
2.birth of child (life event)-as the person is new to the
responsibility of being parenthood and accepting the role and
fulfilling the responsibilty will create the stress.
3.loss of loved one (life event)-unable to accept the death of
loved one and unable to imagine how to survive without them which
creates lot of stress.
crisis intervention is intended to be time limited and goal
directed.
steps of crisis intervention:
1)catharsis-release of feelings that takes place as the patient
talks about emotionally charged areas.
2)clarification-encourage the patient to express more clearly the
relationship between certain events.
3)suggestion-influencing the person to accept an idea or
belief.
4)support of defences-encouraging the use of healthy ,adaptive
defences and discouraging those unhealthy or maladaptive.
5)rising self esteem-helping the patient regain feeings of self
worth.
6)exploration of solution-examining the alternative ways of solving
the immediate problem.
