In not more than four paragraphs, substantiate why women conversation is said or considered to be typically inferior.
Women conversation is considered to be typically inferior. Here are the arguments to substantiate the statement.
The influence of the Victorian era on family life and gender probably given an upper hand to a patriarchal society. A patriarchal society has given more privileges to men and somehow made men superior. Over a period of time, women folks focused more on feminine duties like breeding, household duties and their conversation also got adjusted to the kind of work and leadership. Even after thousands of years of civilization, women are still considered inferior to men not just in conversation but in most aspects of life. Culture plays a great role in this.
If we examine the culture of the human race across developed, developing or underdeveloped civilizations, society sets an early expectation about how women speak and behave and mostly this differ from how men are expected to speak. For example, in certain conservative civilizations of Asia, women are not supposed to speak to strange men. Women in such civilizations are conditioned through family and community norms, education by family members and deep rooted beliefs. Also lack of higher education in such societies helped such women, their daughters, and their granddaughters follow the same path.
Feminists across the world agreeing to the fact that women are considered as inferior to men and language is used as one of the most vital instruments to oppress female folks. A male to show aggression and anger, are allowed to raise the voice and shout at women, and at the same time if a woman use such language and tone, the community considers herself as abnormal or not a family woman type.
However, if we examine the psychological aspect of the conversation, it is quite true that women prefer to preserve intimacy and they seek more warmth and support while communicating with somebody. At the same time, men often tend to grab the status quo and incline towards more independence. The grooming of men and women play a critical role here as most men consider conversation as competitive and women at the same time attempt to gain a kind of support for their opinion. There exists a huge difference in the way both genders look at the world; 'man stands for achieving status, and keep it up' and 'women stand for having a symphony of networks to enable support'.Even though the conversational styles appear to be different, the conversations can still be used to achieve a common purpose. For example, both men and women like to have connections and power, but they may use different styles of conversation to pursue such goals.
