Michelangelo was one of the greatest artist of 16th century of the Italian High Renaissance known for his number of masterpieces in sculptures, paintings, and architectural designs who rank among most famous in existence. He is the best-documented artist. He sculpted two of his best works before the age of 30, the Pietà and David, he also created two most frescoes architecture in the history of Western art, they were: the scenes from Genesis on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in Rome, and The Last Judgment on its altar wall. At the age of 74, he created Antonio da Sangallo.
He was one of the great artist as he was the first Western artist whose two biography was published during his lifetime.

The Bacchus-
The Bacchus is Michelangelo’s first in Rome. The sculpture is made of marble, it is life sized, carved in the round. The art is of the god of wine, who is holding a cup and seems to be drunk. The references to this classical piece are clear in the subject matter, and the body of the sculpture is based on the Apollo Belvedere.
Pietà
Pieta depicts the body of the Jesus in the lap of his mother after the Crucifixion. This scene belongs to one of the seven sorrows of Mary which was used in Catholic devotional prayers and shows a core moment in her life foretold by the prophet, Simeon.
David
David is the 17 foot tall statue shows the prophet David, which is majestic and nude, having the slingshot he used to kill Goliath, slung in victorious manner over the shoulder.
