Sustainability is a concept that businesses need to get behind in order to fully appreciate the value of their business while also considering the effect it has on the environment.

In an agricultural setting, sustainability would require the use of organic components to increase the production of a better yield, at the same time, allowing the soil to not be polluted due to the action of the chemicals in the fertilizers, pesticides and other chemical based products to enhance the yield. This would also require the use of efficient planning and forecasting methods to predict weather patterns to some extent in order to minimize the damages and the wastage that can be caused due to it.

Sustainable energy sources can be considered as those sources which are abundantly available in the environment and do not require the use of fossil fuels in order to utilize them to get energy. This usually contains sources like sun, water, wind etc. to move the structures that are created to trap the sources, to move the turbines and successfully generate electricity. White, sunlight is essentially a source of energy in itself. It is vastly abundant, and can easily be trapped and converted to electricity.

Sustainable transportation, as a theory would suggest the maximum utilization of the present techniques in order to gain a favourable outcome. This would mean that the processes would be optimized. This would not only save fuel considerably but also time. Essentially, transport with a hybrid engine can be utilized to minimize the damage it has on the environment as far as possible.

To turn my hometown into a sustainable town, proper rules and regulations need to be made and enforced. This would require creating structures which allow the capabilities to harness and store energy provided by the nature. Wastage should be kept at minimum with efficient daily processes. Essentially, all the businesses need to understand lean methodology and involve in its implementation at their own level. People need to be actively involved in all the matters that concern the entire community and need to make combined effects in order to bring about a change for a better future.
