3. The average yield of strain A in the bioreactor was 0.905 as a result of 20 measurements, and the average yield of strain B under the same conditions was 0.882 after 15 measurements. Standard deviations of these measurements were calculated as 0.012 for strain A and 0.015 for strain B. What assumptions are needed to build a confidence interval of 99% significance for the difference of the average yields of these two strains (uA-Ha). How can this assumption be decided? Explain.
