Outline some of the factors that have been linked to longer lifespans and state some of the reasons why these factors are important to living longer. This needs to be in essay form.
Introduction - Lifespan is affected by various factors depending on the country one lives, culture and religion one belongs to and life style one adopts. That’s why people in different countries have different lifespans. Factors such as socio-economic status, gender, genetic influence, cultural impacts, healthy lifestyle etc. would affect the longevity of people.
Socio-economic status – One of the most important determinants that would facilitate a healthy life is socio-economic factor that would help one live long with healthy food, medical facilities etc. If a person is poor, the person would struggle both for healthy food and medical facilities that are costly.
Genetic influence – Certain diseases are genetically transferable and they would limit a person’s chance of long life. If there is a genetic illness that one inherits, it might affect one’s normal functioning and limit their longevity.
Gender – Gender is yet another factor that affects one’s lifespan. Women tend to live longer than men because of their healthy lifestyle while men get into unhealthy practices including drugs.
Cultural impacts – Certain cultures have practices such as hygiene factors, sexual orientation, gender equality etc. could play a determining role in a person’s longevity.
Physical Exercise – One of the most important factors that support a long life is exercise because physical activity of any type keeps the body rejuvenated and active.
Conclusion – Lifespan and lifestyle are both interlinked. People who live a healthy life and enough opportunities for better medical facilities would live long.
