Explain interactions between the following phases:
a)solid-liquid
b)solid-gas
c)gas-liquid
d)liq.1-liq.2
(A) In a solid the particles are packed tightly together on a more rigid formation there fore giving solids there solid structure. , In a liquid they are packed more loosly which gives them a less rigid structure.
B) The strongest interparticle attractions exist between particles of a solid and the weakest inter particles attractions attractions exist between particles of a gas.
(c) A liquid has a definite volume but it takes the shape of container., A solid has a definite shape and solume.
d) (d) A result of adding precipitant to a protein to a protein solution is the formation of liquid drops. These liquid drops sometimes referred to as oils or coacerates and can be observed at changing temperature pHs, and other solution condition changes. the drops usually contain high protein concentrations and when influenced by a higher force, gravity, the drops separate form the rest of the solution. The result of this is liq.1-liq.2 phases from the solution.
