True/False. If humans could stop emitting carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, then the effects of climate change would go away and the climate would return to “normal” within a decade or two. Explain. Credit is given for the thoroughness of the explanation.
If humans could stop emitting carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, then the effects of climate change would go away and the climate would return to “normal” within a decade or two.
The above statement is false.
Explanation: It is hard to stop emitting carbon dioxide into the atmosphere as we all know the basic sources of human-produced carbon dioxide are the burning of coal, natural gas and oil, clearing of forest and change in land use etc. It is not so easy to stop all the sources of carbon dioxide in such a growing population. Firstly take the example of clearing of the forest, we all need a house to live in. The population pressure is forcing us to do so. Even though we can manage to stop all the activities which produce carbon dioxide we can not eradicate the fear of climate change and the polluted climate will not come to normal. This practice can be a precautionary measure for climate change and not will be a useful measure to bring the climate into normal within a decade or two.
