Reverse engineering  is the process by which an artificial object is deconstructed to reveal its designs, architecture, code or to extract knowledge from the object.

reverse engineering is commonly used:

  1. as to get an idea from existing product and try to make it available in more better way
  2. Use check the whether a product is original or not.

There are still a contraversy about whether reverse engineering is ethical or not.Some companys consider it as ethical and some not.Now a days we see many big companies started implementation of Reverse engineering different impWhyproduct,they specially employeed a research team for this subject,therefor I don't think it is unethical. Reverse engineering is legal as long as another person or group does not explicitly copy another product as well as violates the norms of legality and patent issues of a company
