Yes, irrespective of the size of the company that is small, medium or large manufacturing organization, product positioning plays a very significant role in the overall fate of the organization. The due concerns must be given to each and every activity involved in the management and development of the product as the different processes which are involved in the production, development and marketing of any product requires a lot of funds and a number of risks are also associated with these processes.

Product positioning can be defined as an activity which is employed by thee organizations to find out how to create a distinct image of the brand in the mind of the customer. Each and every type of manufacturing organization (small, medium or large) produces the products for specific target customers and in the prevailing marketing environment, each market is flooded with a number of other competing organization. If the organizations are not able to make a distinctive image about its product n the customer’s mind, this will make the game easier for the competitors as they will try their best to snatch the customers.

Thus it is quite clear that size of the company hardly matters when it comes to the positioning of the product in the mind of the target customers.
