Health care resources are defined as all the materials, staff , facilities, funds and everything else that can be used to provide health care services. Health care has long been a limited resource with unlimited demand; all need health care. U.S. healthcare had been allocated until the 20th century through the ability to pay or barter, with small numbers of individuals consuming the bulk of resources, leaving few resources available to others.
Improving health-care services includes increasing access to and
use of preventive services based on evidence. Clinical Preventive
Services are:
Prevent disease by encouraging healthy , non-risk habits in people
( e.g., diet and exercise counseling)
Prevent disease by offering protection (e.g. childhood
vaccinations) to those at risk
Identify and treat people without symptoms but with risk factors
prior to the occurrence of serious disease (e.g., hypertension
screening or colorectal cancer).
