There are different type of learning that is new and can be included in the MBA program to make it more suitable & relevant.
The first learning is the use of technology in the form of decision support system, simulation and extrapolation of data to forecast not only the demand, but also the challenges, threats and issues, the organization may face. The technology helps to conduct complex & necessary computations, give hidden information and help taking informed decisions that bring sustained profitability & wealth creation for the organization and its stakeholders. Here, the emphasis should be given upon the communities, consumers and regulatory bodies as stakeholders. It is already mentioned in stakeholder theory, but it requires more elaboration and application in terms of its significance.
The second learning is the embracing of the contemporary concepts that should get a place in the MBA program and managers should take it seriously from the beginning. The ideas such as diversity in recruitment as well as in promotion decisions, autonomy at work to promote originality of ideas as well as prevention of groupthink and deliver behavioral & cultural training to build a workforce that is tolerant & respectful to each other. It will create value for the organization.
The third learning is the significance of green initiatives that bring sustainability not only to the organization, but also to the whole value chain. Here, it is important for the MBA program to make managers learn it and plan a strategy that will be applied across the different components of the value chain such as suppliers, farmers and or vendors. It develops a new level of ethical, environmental friendly and morally high practices that have the power to raise the ethical practices of the different geographical areas. Such topics should be added with the supplement of the case studies so that students understand it first, then they implement it in their own organization to become socially responsible managers.
The fourth learning is the growing importance of internet based data management using bid data and cloud computing. It should be included as IT for managers in MBA program, to bring robust security framework in the organization that is highly secure. Since todays manager should be ready for different types of threats and challenges, so these learnings should be included in the course.
