List out the 3 different genes and their respective responses in
plants that you came across, that help plants respond to different
signals

Expert Solution
ANSWER :-
The first gene that needs to be introduced belongs to
cyanobacteria and some in plants which are involved in the
synthesis of an enzyme called chlorophyll F synthase which in turn
is being activated under the effect of an external light source in
order to initiate formation and buidup of respective chlorophyll
molecules for the process of photosynthesis. This has been tracked
to the upregulation of certain genes which are associated with the
upregulation of the synthesis of chlorophyll molecules in response
to light mainly the gene chlorophyll synthase.
The second gene is R-gene which is responsible for playing a
pivotal role in the process of enhancing the resistance of a plant
towards a pathogenic microbe. One such gene is the N-gene which has
been isolated from the Tobacco plant and is stated to interact with
the nucleotide sequence of the Tobacco Mosaic Virus thereby
generating resistance within the plant against this viral
agent.
The third gene is the gene which encodes from the protein
Cytosolic ascorbate peroxidase 1 which is involved in plants
response to external injury or stress by means of mediating the
process of signal transduction wherein certain regulatory molecules
are being activated one of which is the reactive oxygen species
which in turn is involved in mediating stress associated response.
Their activity is associated with the Rapid Alkalinization Factor
like protein encoded by RALF gene whose activity is upregulated
during parasitic infections and certain stress factors.
Question 2
You are out exploring plants while on a hike, and you
come across a group of ferns. You notice some with
hairy fiddleheads (immature leaves), and some without. You form a
preliminary hypothesis that they are members of different
species. (32
pts)
Part 1: What specific features/aspects would
you examine to test your hypothesis that these ferns have undergone
speciation? Utilize at least two species
concepts/definitions in your response. (16 pts)
Part 2: What events could potentially be...
List a pair of animals or plants that you are familiar with that
have very different life history strategies. Which one is more
r-selected? Which one is more K-selected? List several traits of
the more r-selected organism that are typical of r-selected life
histories, and list several traits of the more K-selected organism
that are typical of K-selected life histories.
Do you think that different party systems will lead to a
different responses, if you analyze
them within the context of George Floyd’s killing and the character
of the following
demonstrations? Why? Why not?

1. Many different molecules need to pass in and out of a cell
across the cell membrane and from the outside of the body to the
inside. Some of these molecules are hydrophobic and some are
hydrophilic. Define these two terms and explain why they differ in
their ability to pass through cell membranes. What part of a cell
membrane makes it so tricky for some molecules to get through? How
do these two types of molecules pass through cell...
QUESTION FIVE
a. You came across a picture of three
co-planar forces acting at a point, P. The first force is
200N and acting at 20° to the
horizontal; the second 400N and acting at
165° to the horizontal; the third
500N acting at 250° to the
horizontal.
Draw what you saw in the picture using an appropriate scale. Use
protractor for the angles. AP[8 marks]

On your way for lectures one day, you came across an accident
scene where the victim was bleeding profusely. You happened to be
the first person at the scene so you assisted the victim to a
nearby health centre. When you entered the yard of the health
facility you noticed that the compound was very neat with beautiful
flowers and modern structures. At the emergency ward was a nurse
who was busily having a phone conversation with a supposed friend....
