1. Amazon has pulled of mass customization by utilizing their product and service differentiation as the basis t cater to the needs of the people. Amazon provides a host of service which includes grocery, daily use products, electronics, utility and even clothing, furniture and tools which cater to the need of all the type of people. It even includes smart AI assistant, it's own range of product, services like Amazon Prime and Amazon AWS which help it create a better market for all the consumers.
2. To achieve mass customization, Amazon uses the service model where it sources most of its products from third-party manufacturers. It then packages the product and delivers it through its own supply and logistics services. This has allowed Amazon to not have to restrict to a certain inventory or category but open its business to all types of products and services which allow it to cater to the needs of the population better.
3. The competitive advantages Amazon has included leadership position in a large market where it can present its own services as well as sourced products and offer it to customers. This essentially saves I ve tory space, warehouse and storage space and also the capital investment required in order to own the entire inventory and not source it. The advantage also includes being able to sell its own services based on the business model and create an additional source of profit for the company. Essentially, all these services add up and create a service that is in demand, well equipped and free of much constrains.
