Some relevant issues facing today's managers include: global HRM, labor relations, social media, whistleblower rules, e-HRM/self-service the knowledge economy, outsourcing pros and cons, managing four different generations in the workforce, increasing age of the workforce, employee privacy, the glass ceiling, implications of baby boomer retirements, immigration, social responsibility, elder care, executive pay, and alternative work arrangements.

• There is no doubt in the fact that the organization has to aware of what the labor feels about the organization, hence managers need to gather the information for the same
• The performance and fate of an organization depends largely on how the labor performs and in order to perform well the management needs to take care of the needs and expectations of the employees.
• The relation between the organization management and labors are generally considered to be contrasting but that is not true always and that is the reason the relations needs to be maintained.
• Labor or employees are an important stakeholder of the organization and the revenue of an organization directly depends on these labors hence their interests need to be protected and safeguarded.

Social Media

• It has been an integral part of human lives today and can create almost a revolution virtually hence the organization needs to have a policy regarding the usage and the managers need to be aware and look after the issue.
• The employees should be given the freedom to use social media in office but that should not affect their performance or quality of performance.
• There are certain guidelines while posting anything on social media based on the organization because the individual is generally representing the organization and it is better to be clear in approach.
• Confidential or sensitive information or grievances should not be posted on social media that is against the policy.
