Discuss the tools and techniques best suited for resistance to change?
Kotter and Schlesinger (1979) suggested six ways through which we can overcome resistance to change.
1. Educating people and providing effective communication that shows the benefits of the planned change.
2. Next step is to set up a collaborative environment and implement the changes with the support of a person.
3. Due to several reasons like fear, lack of awareness etc they might be reluctant to change. So give them proper emotional support and facilitate them being able to adjust with the challenges.
4. In this technique we use negotiations with the resistor and make a trade-off so that he won't resist the decision.
5.Manipulation and co-optation: This is a technique through which we support, persuade or influence the person and make change in them.
6. Coercion: Coercion involves exercising force or threat for making the change accepted and followed by the employees.
