Public Policy strategy related to Obesity:
In the U.S, Obesity is a serious public health concern. Obesity is viewed as 'adverse effect on Population's health. Obesity rates are growing day by day. The Government has taken various steps includes Calorie disclosure requirements, taxes, Food stamp modifications, physical education, and sugar drink bans. Many policies are controversial. At the same time, the cost of Political policies against the obesity has been raised. So the Government has taken Legal action in the prevention of obesity through Health education.
Public awareness and Physical education have a greater influence on Obesity prevention and health consciousness. Early care and Education are important policy program for the prevention of Childhood obesity. Further, a lot of School campaign program should be arranged to make awareness to the children and It reduces the cost but effective. State regulation should impact on child nutrition and Physical activity on school Children.
Sweetened-Sugar Beverage Taxation:
Sugar- Sweetened Beverage is correlated with diabetes, obesity, and tooth decay. Sugar- Sweetened Beverages is one of the policies that concerns about reducing chronic disease through the negative impact on these beverages. It also limits the availability and the accessibility of SSBs. But the beverage industry and others are opposing the SSBs taxation. Controversy, it will raise the sugar products. SSBs tax raising the funding for health needs rather than decreased consumption. It is better to increase the tax on sugars than the industry.
Health communication and Telemarketing:
The Health communication Strategies should target the population through communication goals. Communication channels increase the health awareness of people. Strategies promote the public health opinion. Health communication and telemarketing also focuses on the public health policy. EX: tobacco control. It maximizes the awareness of the public health. It focuses on health promotion and disease prevention.
