Are whistle-blowers a friend or foe to an organization? Explain your answer. An individual speaks up and helps protect the organization through harm. Some employees refer to him as “the snitch.” What means can you ensure that the employee is protected from harm?
Whistle-blowers are definitely a friend to an organization because of the following reasons-
1- Any kind of wrongdoing or unethical/ immoral functioning is brought to the light of the outside world.
2- This makes unethical facets in an organisation to evaporate.
3- Whistle blowing leads to a fine organisational culture.
4- It enhances the cofidence among employess.
5- It elevates the morale and faith of employees.
6- It cultivates goodwill/ brand name of the organisation in the long run.
7- It blossoms transparency in an organisation.
8- People at harm can be compensated.
9- It reflects an effective communication.
10- It saves an organisation from getting deraied.
11- It benefits all the stakeholders in an organisation.
Emplyees can be protected from harm through following means-
1- The whistle blower's name should be kept anonymous.
2- Some non- profit organisations can be contacted who initiate to protect whistleblowers from the possible harm.
3- Report to higher authorities.
4- Use social media, if necessary.
5- Reward system for good whistle blowers.
