describe the difference between Tylenol and Ibuprofen. which one of the pain medication mentioned, will you choose for you and your family? And is it different from what you already have in your medicine cabinet? If so, why the change?
Both medications can be used for fever but there are some specification .Acetaminophen is mainly using to get relief of pain and fever, but ibuprofen relieves inflammation in addition to pain and fever. Some other differences are NSAIDs such as ibuprofen are more effective than acetaminophen at relieving pain. Acetaminophen is known by the brand name Tylenol and using to treat pain and fever. Ibuprofen is known by the brand name Advil or Motrin and approved to treat pain, fever, and inflammation .some of the common side effects are rash, nausea, and headache.
Side effects of acetaminophen which is different from ibuprofen are hypersensitivity reactions,anemia,skin reactions liver failure and decreased number of platelets.
Side effects of ibuprofen that are different from acetaminophen include dizziness,diarrhoea or constipation,ringing in the ears,abdominal pain etc.
Depending upon the symptoms and seviarity the medication will choose and mainly if it is in pediatric group acetaminophen will be more effective than ibuprofen.
These medications will help to relieve almost all pain and also inflammation in addition applicable for all age group. Comparatevily less side effects also . So this can keep in the medicine cabinet .
