SYPHILIS

Syphilis is a sexually transmitted infection caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum subspecies pallidum. Syphilis has been known as "the great imitator" as it may cause symptoms similar to many other diseases. Syphilis is most commonly spread through sexual activity

The common sign and symptoms include body rashes that last 2 – 6 weeks often on the palms of your hands and the soles of your feet. There are lots of other symptoms, including mild fever, fatigue, sore throat, hair loss, weight loss, swollen glands, headache, muscle pains, and cramps

COMPLICATIONS OF SYPHILIS

The complications which may occur due to syphilis are that the disease can damage vital organs of the body such as the heart, blood vessels, brain, nerves, eyes, liver, bones, and joints. Complications such as meningitis, stroke, dementia and heart disease may occur, with serious consequences, even death.

DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT
