You are a middle level manager and during the last few weeks you have experienced several communication problems which have made your job more difficult. Reflecting on the information in chapter 12, you realize there could and should be changes in your company to improve communication.

You will write a memo to your boss, the V.P. In this (minimum of 400 word) memo you will:

o   describe the importance of effective communication in the organization

o   identify three specific and significant areas where you find ineffective communication (you can create any three problem areas), and

o   for each of the three communication problems create an action plan describing how you     believe this problem can be corrected. The action plan would include answers to who, what, where, when, and how.

You must be persuasive and convince the V.P. to implement these actions in your department and/or company wide

Communication is the Key

Dear Vice President,

I believe that our organization is experiencing a major problem while doing business, it may seem to be a very casual and common phenomenon but I believe that this may lead to serious issue in the future and present of the organization. The issue is regarding communication and I believe that our employees lack in effective and proper communication skill which is a huge limitation. We cannot deny the importance of communication in the field of business and without proper communication organization actually cannot make huge progress in the field because what they think needs to be conveyed or communicated to the industry and only then the potential client will be attracted or interested.

I believe that there are more than one issue related to communication the primary issue is lac k of proper communication with the client which has lead to negative feedback from the client regarding the employees and there has been statements that it is actually difficult working with employees with less or most no communication skill at all. Sec0ndly, communication within the team needs to be important and this is lacking because nobody is expressive and therefore the team is not at all in sync with each other. Another issue is that ideas may be present with the team but there is almost no expression from them and they do not express these ideas at all which is making the situation difficult fro the client.

I believe that the primary step that organization can take up is to build creative confidence among employees so that they do not hesitate to communicate with client neither hesitate to express ideas with the clients which may actually help them bringing more and more business for the organization. Conducting Creative confidence sessions is quite an interesting and fruitful measure that can be taken up. Training regarding team work and the importance of teamwork needs to be explained an dot should be mad clear that there is no way team work can be substituted at any cost because that will affect the organization badly.

I believe that such ideas will actually help the organization achieve their goals and objectives, making it clear that communication is the key and organizations need to be effective in communication if they actually want to succeed in this field.

Section 13(3) of the Federal Reserve Act grants the central bank the authority, with the approval of the Secretary of the Treasury, to implement these...
