The law of voter id is a voter should have their photo identity proof for voting on election. This law was controversial and have been debated on many occasions.
The Need of ID:
The law was implemented in the year 2011 in 13 states of USA. This low is necessary for voting processes as otherwise it will create a mess as one can cast his/her vote multiple times. The migrants who are not the residents of USA can be used to vote for a particular party. It will also be difficult for calculating the percentage of legal votes and to elect the most deserving.
Difficulties on carrying ID proof:
This low is also discriminating people, as by this law a people should have their driving license or the passport for casting their vote. There are many under privileged people who can’t afford to buy a car or can’t afford foreign tour so they don’t have any photo I’d. On other states other forms of photo IDs are also accepted but people get confused on which one to show to cast their vote. This has been interrupted the correct voting process as many of the countrymen was unable to cast their valuable votes.
The concept of showing photo ID for casting vote is not absolutely wrong. For identification of legal voters photo ID is required but government should think of the poor population of the country as well. The poor population may not have the listed ID proofs which are required to cast their valuable votes. Government should identify its legal residents and should provide them a special voter photo ID proof to them as they also have the equal right to cast their votes.
