1.Current Procedural Terminology(CPT)urrent P -It is a US Standard for coding specific medical proceduresIt is used along with ICD-10CM.It is of 3 types.

a.Category 1-It deals with procedures and novel contemperorary procedures which are performed in the hospital and is of 5 digit codes.

b.Ctegory 2-it includes laboratory services mainly consist of codes that is used for surveilling quality care given to the patients.

c.Category 3-it is based on Emerging technologies ,services and procedures.These codes are used to recognize the services that may not have been intervened by the health care team members.

ICD-10-PCS-International classification of diseases Procedure Coding System-It main function is to code procedures and used in hospitals as well as inpatient settings.This is a US based Cataloging system for codes related to procedures and can be used to track health interventions initiated by the health care professionals.It has a 3-7 digit alpha numeric codes and mainly contains 31 body system values ,31 root operations and 16 sections in ICD-10-PCS It includes Chiropractic,Nuclear Medicine,Imaging,Obstetrics,Medical and Surgical,Extracorporeal therapies,assisstance and Performance

ICD-10-CM-International Classification of Diseases Clinical Modification-It is used to code,diagnosis,symptoms and procedures recorded as well as classify them based on the hospital care in the US.It caps about 68000 diagnostic code and is based on 3-7 digits.Due to its varied length it helps in coding more diseases.But it is not used in US hospitals.It enhances in accurate payment for the services

Both the ICD helps in tracking public health,aids in research and in making clinical decisions.ICD-10-CM published as single volume coding manual,with the index to Diseases and Injuries,Neoplasm and Table of Drugs and Chemicals.But ICD-10-PCS has a separate single volume coding manual,with the Index to Procedures located in front of the Tables.
