In the early 19th century, the emergence of the Jacksonian Era is considered one of the significant and influential aspects of American culture. It's because at that point onwards Modern American Political culture began to take shape. Before Jacksonian Democracy, there was a monopoly of the government of elites (a group of powerful people).

Some Important Points of Jacksonian Era Culture:-

1) Andrew Jackson, a westerner and the hero of the Battle of New Orleans (1815) led won the presidency in 1829 and Jacksonian Era began.

2) It refers to the time of nearly 1828 to 1840

3) It was built on the principles of expanded suffrage, Manifest Destiny, patronage, strict constructionism, and laissez-faire economics.

4) Whig, an American political party formed in the 1830s to oppose President Andrew Jackson and the Democrats.

5) Opposition to the national bank, nullification crisis, the assassination attempt on Jackson were the key events/crisis during the Jacksonian Era.

How did westward expansion affect the United States and other nations?

Rooted in the idea of manifest destiny, a belief that Americans were superior and must expand their territories, the immigrants forged ahead. This led to the efforts to seize western territories from native peoples and expand the republic by wars (for eg: Mexican-American War). Such events made the country a powerful and dominant nation.

However, these expansions also led to the debates about the issue of slavery in the west. This increased the tension between North and South which turned into a brutal Civil War.

On the positive side, the effects were also seen in the education sector, modern technology, and civilization to the West.
