The major cause of change in the nation and borders of South East Asia is the impact of globalization.Globalization increases contact with other nation states with social media, economic exchange, politics and other areas. In international relations , globalisation changes nations and borders through the formation of ASEAN.Nation states have become interdependent on one another for the sake of national and regional security. In recent yeras impact of globalization is mostly felt in economic relations.Singapore in South East Asia has been affected by globalization as the country is the most open trade oriented economy and a hub of iinternational investors. So globalization will give rise to more jobs. However globalizatoion has negative impact on South East Asia as they will have to follow whatever the big developed countries tell them to do.Negative impact includes terrorism , job insecurity,  currency fluctuations and price instabilty. For Eg Globalization has led to growth of terrorism in India and Pakistan.

Vietnam is exceptionally globalised economy because of its exports. The country is the major exporter of electronice to China and US.Machine parts and natural resources are imported from China and Korea.GDP per person has grown in Vietnam due to globalization. However there are drawbacks associated with globalization because if China and US decide to  close their economy ,Vietnam's condition will deteriorate. In America globalization has increased the choice of goods and services which are available to consumers and average price has reducedSo consumers spend less on many goods..So long term productivity of workers has increased ..But there has been loss of manufacturing jobs . This loss outsized many cities which depended on steel and automobile industries.
