Explain the key difference between a stock pollutant and a fund pollutant. Illustrate the difference between the two by using an example of each.
Ans. Differences between Stock pollutants and Fund pollutants.
Stock pollutants
1. A stock pollutants is one for which the environment has a very little assimilative capacity.
2.Once stock pollutants emitted, it would not be absorbed by the environment because there is no natural resource by which stock pollutants assimilate into the environment.
3. The amount of waste in the stock pollutants will be higher and keeps remaining long periods.
4. For example:- manufacture which emits the Plutonium as its waste product, the Plutonium can not be assimilated in the environment.
5. They cause higher damages to the environment as more pollutant is emitted, and persists as the pollutant accumulates.
Fund Pollutants
1. A fund pollutants is one for which the environment has a high assimilative capacity.
2. Once the Fund pollutants emitted, it would absorb by the natural resources in the environment.
3.The amount of waste in the fund pollutants is less as comparable to the stock pollutants as it assimilates into the environment.
4. For example:- Carbon dioxide, which is absorbed by the plants and ocean( natural resources).
5. Fund pollutants are not destroyed, but rather converted into less harmful substances or diluted to non-harmful concentrations.
Diffrences By examples :-
Common Example of stock pollutants are persistent, synthetic chemicals, non-biodegradable plastics and heavy metals and a Plutonium.
Common example of fund pollutants are organic compounds, CO² CARBON DIOXIDE etc..
