Tracheostomy is a surgical procedure in which a tube is inserted into trachea to help in the breathing. Tracheostomy tube is available in different size and having different material. The tube is disposable Or reusable.

Disposable inner cannula will only change by the accredited nursing staff atleast once in every 7-8 hours. Inner cannula put inside the trach tube , it can be remove and clean at time to time to prevent from the mucus inside the trach tube. Disposable inner cannula is affordable and easy to use. There are different steps to take care of tracheostomy by using disposable inner cannula like :----

Main important is we should wash our hand from soap and water to remove the inner cannula.

Stable the neck when remove the inner cannula.

Discard the soiled inner cannula.

Stable the neck plate of the tracheostomy tube, then insert the sterile disposable inner cannula until it look into the position.
