Emile Durkheim explains 4 types of suicides as Egoistic, Fatalistic, Anomic and Altruistic. Egoistic suicide where people, especially the elderly feel detached from the society because they have go no role to actively play in the society. Fatalistic suicide refers to the suicide that’s committed by people who are oppressed and suppressed by others in the society. Anomic suicide refers to people who are morally lost, those who do not find any purpose in living and those who do not have anyone to guide them. Finally altruistic suicide refers to people who commit suicide for the wellbeing of others or for a greater cause such as soldiers, suicide bombers and cults etc.

School children committing suicide in the age of 10-14 falls in the third type which is anomic suicide where they lose their self-confidence and esteem because of various reasons such as academic pressure, physical appearance, social status, peer pressure etc. They also do not have enough people in the school and home to counsel and guide them when they are down. This forces them to a corner where they want to escape from the reality thus committing suicide.

In our first class we discussed integration between the body systems. In your own words, discuss each of the body systems and give examples of how the systems are integrated with each other. Please do not just say blood flows through each system, but expand on how a homeostatic imbalance in one system affects another. Again, use examples. Explain how they work together to achieve homeostasis. Use physiology terms learned this semester.
