1. Three skills that are necessary for project managers to be successful are planning, management and leadership, risk management.
Project managers need to be good at planning with details and clarity in communication. Management and leadership are essential for decision making and interpersonal relationships. Risk management is also essential for project management as project managers are responsible to manage any uncertainty or adverse effects on the project.
2. Four attributes that can affect a project are resourcefulness, management, teamwork and timeline.
Resourcefulness affects a project since resource availability affects a project as essential resources like finances, human resources and skills, components are required for successful project management. Management of a project is essential to ensure that project functions as per schedule. Teamwork can help a project cope up with any challenges. Timeline of a project is essential as limited time is a constraint and abundant time can increase the budget.
3. Phases of project are initiating, planning, execution, monitoring and closure are four phases of the project. Project initiation phase includes identifying goals and purpose of the project. Planning phase includes scheduling activities with defining details. Execution phase includes implementation with the tasks defined being executed as per the planning and schedule. Project monitoring includes finding any variation or need for changes. Closure phase includes completion of the project as per the goals and objectives and proper handover to the stakeholders with documenting the path and feedback from clients.
4. Four personality types of project managers are project managers are either Introvert or extrovert, logical or Intuitive, objective or subjective, task oriented or people oriented.
A person who is introvert is less open to others and tries to understand more while an extrovert project manager is more interactive. Logical personality type is more fact based while intuitive project manager is more aware of their inner feelings of themselves and others giving importance to subtle facts for decision making. Objective personality type is more critical and organised while subjective personality type are flexible and situation oriented. Task oriented managers are more focused on tasks, their progress and goal achievement. People oriented managers are more relationship oriented with preferences for communication between team members and their satisfaction and understanding.
