What do you understand of Command and Control policies for pollution abatement? Given the current problem of India’s environmental pollution, which pollution abatement measure would you recommend, and why? Justify your answer in 10 bullet points

Answer: Pollution is a serious concern for developing developing and emerging economies like India as they have to make balanced approaches regarding economic development and Environmental protection both for Sustainable growth and development of country.

Hence pollution caused by contaminants in the environment like water,air and soil that impact adversely and change ambient conditions.

So steps which arr required to understand the impact on environment and proper steps to combat such adverse changes refer to as command and control policies for pollugion abaatement.

Indian Government has taken various steps to address problem,some steps giver are:

1.Has given Notification to the National Ambient Air quality standards in various cities and which will in phased mannet will be extended to the all over country.

2.Shifting From dependency from crude oil based vehicles towards hybrid and electronic vehicles for this various schemes like FAME india etc has been launched

3.Country decided to shift from BS 4 norms to BS 6 norms direct by bypassing BS 5 norms(based on Euro norms 1st came in 2000) from 1st april 2020 to combat the problem of air quality in country.

3.International Solar alliance was initiative led by india and france in 2015 paris summit ,to give push to Renewable sources of energy.Hence country is shifting towards harnessing solar energy at greater level.

4.Launching of National Air quality index by PM in 2015.

5.New waste management rules came in 2016 for proper segregation and treatment of Biodrfgradable and non biodegradable waste.

6.Clean GANGA mission and Swachh bharat mission has been launched to bring behavioural changes in the public to combat water pollution.

7.National green tribunal's jurisdiction has been increased to solve environmental related cases within 1 year.

8.Shifting from fossil fules to CNG based public transport system in country.

9.PM UJJWALA Scheme launched in 2015 to provide clean coocking gas to every house hold to combat air pollution.

10.Graded response Action Plan has been launched specially for national capital region on the order of SUPREME COURT to take quick actions when pollution level passes a certain level.
