1. The duration of the absence will depend on the nature of the injury and how severe it is. I will ask the employee who is injured to meet the doctor and ask for this expert advice. I can guess or estimate the period of absence based on that. If the injury is severe then the absence can be up to 2 months and if it is a minor injury then the absence can be just one month. It also depends on the mindset of the employee after the injury because he should recover fully from the trauma in order to work in an efficient way. So I will consider these factors to estimate the period of absence.
2. The five barriers are:
The employer should look for a short-term replacement in order to keep the project progressing forward. The deliverables are very important for the employers so they need to make sure that they deliver the project on time without relying on the injured employee. The injured employees can provide the required knowledge to the new resource through an email or a skype session to continue the work.
