What are some examples of forecasting in Healthcare that are being experience on a regular basis. Now, considering the technology we have at our disposal today, why can't we get a "Perfect" forecast?
Forecasting in healthcare is a novel area of prediction and an important tool for foreseeing future healthcare actions and state of affairs such as foreseeing future demand for healthcare services and healthcare requirements. Furthermore it helps to provide prior information’s to the healthcare service providers to assist them to frame effective medicine and health care business policies which can indeed facilitate them to effectively administer the future demand in the healthcare services.
However predicting future health events or situations involves a degree of uncertainty, as it is almost not possible to have a faultless i.e. 100 % error free prediction. However the measurement of uncertainty and error of health forecasting is prescribed as the fundamental requirement in appropriate forecasting.
Thus indeed it’s very important and crucial that the statistics and information considered as the main basis of uncertainty and error can be eradicated by adopting a policy and approach which indeed needs to be much more methodological and sensible in nature while indulging into data collection.
Furthermore there are other confrontations that been encountered while framing effective forecasting procedures in healthcare such as confinement in the scope, lack of consistency and trustworthiness of health data, sturdiness in health forecasting tools and techniques and overall poor demand for health forecasting.
Presently with the development and availability of latest technology has indeed facilitated health indicators with more effortless and accurate measurable data and yet the data recorded pertaining to population health indicators were not very proficient and not easily accessible and validated as data limitation on multifaceted aspects did posed a challenge in developing a consistent and trustworthy health forecast.
