What are your thoughts about "building our multicultural curriculum effort around the cultivation of Equity literacy in both ourselves and our students?
One of the most important challenges most of the developing countries face is adjusting, accepting and implementing a multicultural curriculum that accepts every one as equal and helps students understand that different culture have different practices thus not any culture is superior over the other. In order to achieve this teachers need to understand and behave in such a way that they respect people without considering their race, religion, color, culture etc. It’s really important that humanity should be the first thing people look for before looking for race and culture.
Thinking beyond cultural restrictions will help the teacher treat all the students equally thus enabling a class that accepts everyone. Making students understand about the presence of multiculturalism will help the students treat others with respect and at the same time not getting involved in bullying. This would also help the society in the long run where people live in harmony without worrying about their differences.
