The French revolution was to restructure the society. This revolution has had the greatest, and, the most dramatic impact. It was a major event in Modern European history. It was a movement for Government reforms. The French revolution turned violent, and, radical. It led to the abolition of the monarchy. The revolution changed France forever. The causes of the revolution were high taxes, monarchy's severe debt problems, poor harvests, and, the American Revolution. It inspired revolutionary movements to end institutions such as feudalism, legal inequality, absolutism, class privileges, equality & freedom, principles of natural right.
The clergy, the nobles, and, the third estate were summoned by King Louis. The General population formed the National Assembly. The Third Estate pledged the Tennis Court Oath. They vowed to remain in the indoor tennis courts until a new constitution had been written. Angry Parisians vent their anger on the troops. The troops eventually surrendered. In the end, the National Assembly was the Government.The American revolution ended as a war for independence. The French Revolution ended with the formation of a Government of the General population. The Soviet revolution was formed at the end of the Russian revolution but it led to the formation of a Communist Government. It is capitalism that has had the most impact over the long term, not communism.
