EEG signals measures some brain activities. Beta Waves (12 to 38
HZ) dominate our normal
waking state of consciousness when attention is directed towards
cognitive tasks. Beta is a ‘fast’
activity, present when we are alert, attentive, engaged in problem
solving, judgment, decision
making, or focused mental activity.
a) Design a Butterworth filter to pass the Beta-waves that will
have maximum attenuation 0.5
dB in the beta waves band and minimum attenuation of 50 dB in the
stopband using Matlab.
b) Run the simulations to illustrate the single tone sine waves
responses of the filter in the
passband and stopband
