what is (Beams: Internal Resultant Loadings)?,, at least 2pages of information, and methoods of determination, thank you
Beams are the horizontal member of any structure that resist loads which are applied laterally to the axis of beam. It is mainly deformed by bending. The loads are applied on the beam are supported by the support reaction forces. The internal forces (shear force, normal force ) and moments ( bending moment) occured due to the loads applied on the beam which is determined by methods of cut or by graphical mathod or by methods of integration.
Methods of cut also known as section method. In this method, after using three generelized equations (Fx=0, Fy=0, Mo=0), we have to find out the reaction forces. Then we have to take sections at different part, to find out shear force and bending moment equations at different parts and further, shear force and bending moment at different nodal points in the beam.
In Methods of integration , also we determine the reaction forces in same way of method of section, but here we use two equations,
Shear force (V(x)) = -w(x) dx
Bending moment M(x) = V(x) dx
By using two equations we find out shear force and bending moment equations and further we determine shear force and bending moment at different nodal points in the beam.
In Method of graphical, we use same concept to find out the reaction forces of the above two methods. In this method after drawing the shear force diagram using loading on the beam, the bending moment equations are found out by determining the area of shear force diagram.
