Keeping the functions of water in living things in mind, describe both how too little or too much water can move an individual away from homeostasis. What happens to the structures of the body with too little or too much water intake?

Homeostatis can be defined as the ability of an organism to maintain a state of internal balance inside the body irrespective of any change in the environmental condition. One of the example of homeostatis is maintaining correct balance of water inside the body. Both the extreme conditions that are too much of water or too less of water inside the organism body can move an individual away from the homeostatis.
In case of too less water inside the animal body, lead to the shrinking of cells. On the other hand, having too much water lead to the swelling of cells or even cells could blow up. Therefore, in both the conditions normal function of the cells get damaged and individual get away from homeostatis. When the water intake is very high and body have too much water, lt lead to the low sodium level in the blood and lead to the abnormal condition in the body known as hyponatremia. Excess water could lead to the swelling of brain, lead to brain damage and even some time lead to comas and sometime death too. Also, the blood pressure also get increases and muscles also get weak. Whereas, too less water in the body severly affect the kidney, and they get clogged up with specific proteins . Also, too less water lead to the formation of kidney stone and urinary tract infection. Our digestive system will not work effectively in less water conditions. The skin become dehydrated and lead to daytime fatigue.
