Google has made some tremendous efforts in going green by slashing their energy usage and supporting green energy projects. For instance, Google has constructed one of the world’s most energy efficient data centers and continuously campaigns for the need for energy conservation and the use of renewable energy sources as well as clean energy products. Google has supported and funded green energy projects by buying and installing numerous windmills and solar panels. It looks for a way to protect the earth’s natural resources.

Based on the above case, identify the approach that Google has applied when going green.

The two approaches that Google has applied by studying the passage mentioned above are:

1. Corporate Social Responsibility: CSR are the social responsibilities that every organisation is obliged to perform as they exist in the society and have a liability towards each member of the society and the society itself. Thus, Google using the green environmental friendly approach helps to achieve the levels of CSR and doing the good for the society which can be treated as a good example for other organisations to perform.

2. Environmental Sustainability or Green Accounting Approach: Sustainability means longetivity. Using a green environmental friendly approach, Google has took some initiatives to toggle the environmental sustainability issues and make people aware about the responsibility they hold towards the society and how one can do least to least degradation to the environment by using the techniques of green accounting, awareness etc.
