Anxiety is one of the old psychological problems that have been found among people. This disorder or the feelings of worry, apprehension, and fear is not given much attention because of various reasons

  • The symptoms are common- Anxiety and feelings of worry are very common and it has been found in every psychological disorder. Since it is common in various disorders, these do not get highlighted as a separate disorder. The anxiety gets overpowered by other disorders, for instance, depression, schizophrenia, eating disorders, etc
  • Many psychologist think anxiety and feelings of fear are very normal. These are not found to be so much intensity that they can be characterized as different disorders.
  • The demarcation between stress and anxiety becomes very difficult to describe.
  • Children's diagnosis and related disorders are only oriented towards some specific fields like learning, ID, autism, etc. Anxiety is given importance in adults as psychologists believe anxiety occurs when people think maturely.
  • The accuracy of diagnosis becomes difficult as the case is dealing with children. Children's emotions and what they are going through are difficult to be observed or assessed.
  • Children are usually diagnosed based on their overt behavioral tendencies and anxiety is more internal feelings.
  • Fewer research papers, journals, and articles.
