In your own words explain securely attached, insecurely attached, insecure resistant and insecure disorganized babies.
1. Securely attached babies: A securely attached child explores his/her environment freely in the presence of caregiver and is comfortable engaging with strangers from time to time. Such children become upset when their caregivers depart but recuperate quickly and show joy upon their caregivers’ return.
2. Insecure avoidant babies: Insecure avoidant babies tend not to explore their environment freely and have little interest in interacting with strangers. They appear to be quite passive and show little to no emotions when their caregivers depart or return.
3. Insecure resistant babies: Insecure resistant children do not explore their environment freely and are vary of strangers, even in the presence of their caregivers. They become extremely upset when their caregivers depart by show ambivalent emotional responses upon their caregivers’ return.
4. Insecure disorganised babies: Insecure disorganised children do not display consistent behaviour in their interaction with their caregivers, the environment and strangers. They tend to show behaviours that are characterised as display of fear, misdirected or jerk movements, and contradictory emotions.
