Class, looking back over the Course Objectives for
this course Project management
what are you looking forward to learning more about throughout your
education and career?
Project
Management:
- Project management not only teaches us the formal managing of a
project but also includes day-to-day life situation analysis and
problem control.
- As a project management as many models such as Agile, Waterfall,
Kanban (type of Agile) etc, in the same way project management
teaches us life skills and problem dealing.
- In a project development phase, not all things are clear from the
very begining but gradually with time and understanding of the
system and requirements, things become more clear. This can be
related to our further education. There might be difficult steps to
climb, vague things ahead but we must try to find solutions and
move on for a successful target achievement.
- Coming to the career part, every project has a well defined
project management plan. If it is an Agile Model, the tasks are
broken down into independent units and those tasks have to be
performed in time intervals called Sprints. Thus, learning some
common methodology which is widely used across the industry gives a
prior knowledge and acquaintance of the actual work we would be
performing.
What are you looking
forward to learning more about throughout your education and
career?
- As there are some commonly used methodology for a
project development/management, I would like to understand the
needs of a project and try to device a specific targetted project
management plan rather than focusing on the already existing
generic ones.
- Management is never a static process. It is an ever evolving
concept. Be it project managent or any generic management, there
are always multiple ways to handle things. I would like a learn "to
the point" thinking strategy to implement the technique of project
management in my daily life by managing the order of action I do
throughout the day in order to get the maximum positive
output/outcome.
- Next thing that I would like to learn more is to know my limits
regarding a task by analyzing it in depth. Rather than just brute
force start of the task, first analyze the task and then have a
plan to complete it. If its something, out of reach or not
possible, seeking some help rather than just getting confused
within oneself. This can be related to project management in the
POC phase when we analyze a functionality as how we can achieve it
and what would be the trade offs associated with it.
Thus, project management teaches a thoughful thinking methodology
that can be implemented in almost every field of life and I am
looking forward to incorporate the same in my life
