President Hoovers deeply held philosophy of American individualism, despite extra-ordinary circumstances which he maintained, this made him unsuited to deal with great depression. He resisted government intervention, he considers it as downfall of American greatness. He led the free market to take full control of economy. Since unregulated business often went out of there way to get much profit as they can, a lots of works loosed there jobs. He finally created some Federal relief programs namely as Reconstruction Finance Corporation (RFC). He also signed emergency relief act , this allowed RFC to pump in money into local public work project . But unfortunately this was to late and very little as depression was inevitable for now.
Hoover provide the business corporations in too much influence under the government .This scenario make the private sectors to easily persuade government to make favourable laws in the country. The American public responded with anger and strikes after seeing drastic negative changes in there wages . Protests raged from factory to farm riots. Veterans of WW1 also went on strikes for not receiving there bonuses. Hoover popularity went to all time low.
