What programs did the president create to bring about an end to the Great Depression? What were the success and failures? Did everyone benefit from what was known as The New Deal? Why?
Answer:- In late 1930s Franklin D. Roosevelt's 'New Deal' helped to end great depression . Various social and government programs did get millions of Americans back to work through hundreds of public projects all over the country such as building of schools, bridges, hospitals etc. New deal encourage labour movement, taken initiatives for wage growth and sustained purchasing power of many Americans. Establishment of social Security and federal rules imposed to financial institutions to ensure to prevent great depression after 1930s.
Establishment of new deal was not the only reason of end of great depression but other factor was starting of world War II which reduced unemployment and increased GNP through massive scale of weapons production.
Main success of New deal that it's various reforms prevented future economic depression. Provided jobs to millions of Americans during 1930s that were unemployed. New deal failure was it did not end the great depression . Several of its programs were disapproved by supreme Court . Failed to help minorities and didn't bring unemployment to accepted levels. Government funds were not enough to stimulus economic growth . It was only because of world War II which created alot of jobs ended great depression.
