Religion have a very deep importance in the New England Society. Most of the people lived in the colonies existed in the New England, except the Rhode Island were high believers of religion. They were primarily Puritans. Their life was completely dedicated to religion. Puritans are basically protestants whose aim was to purify the churches in England and to make those churches more protestant.
The priests of the New England churches were very well educated regarding the religious prospects so that they can teach Bible and related things to others.
The churches became the most significant building and even public meetings were conducted there. Therefore, those churches were otherwise Known as meeting house.
The deep and firm relation lied in between the government and religion provide benefits to both the state and the church. Hence this mutual relationship led to social harmony, morality as well as stability in politics.
