Solutions

Expert Solution

The spread of Covid-19 has changed all the consumption behaviours and purchasing patterns across the globe. With the lockdown measures in progress, most of the superstores, hypermarkets, malls and other purchase platforms have been shut which means that most of the consumers have to change their consumption behaviours in accordance with the changed scenario. The following have been the various changes that have happened in the consumption behaviours.

· Most of the consumers have no access to offline grocery stores and much of the products are now being sold online.

· Since the fresh products like vegetables are not often found online, most of the consumers would prefer to order products that are grab-and-go which could fit their pattern of consumption.

· Most of the production of raw produce have been stalled which has resulted in the increase of the pricing for such products.

· With rising demand, the price of consumer-friendly grab-and-go products have fallen which has improved further demand for similar products

· The availability of products have become a deciding factor for consumer preferences as they are ow left with lesser options to purchase.

Thus, with all the above variations that have been caused under the Covid-19 scenario, it is seen that purchase patterns of such grab-and-go products have found an increase in these times.
