What do settlement houses, child labor reform, and the temperance movement have in common?
Ans : In cases of Settlement houses poor peolpe does not have the facility of educating their young ones , therefore they wanted settlement houses for the social services . In cases of child labour reforms age limit is set during this for the children to be treated as workers . In case of temperance movement , consumption of alcohol is banned stating that it would affect the people's health, their way of thinking , family live and their way of workshiping God . In all of these cases one thing which comes out to be come is that these things are implemented so as to protect the religious beliefs of the people , they do not want these people to hurt God`s sentiments and also they tend to judge people on the basis of their lifestyle and from what family background they are coming from , based on that they are treated in the society . Therefore they don`t allow poor people to enter settlement houses , therefore they demand seprate settlement house because don`t want to indulge with them. Thats why child reform have been made so as to give equality to all the children rather than being treated differently . Thats why temperance movement happened because they thought that those people who consumes alcohol are not their friends anymore , they belong to different category of people and thats why they should not be living with them .
