Scale-based classification for networks allows us to differentiate PANs, LANs, MANs, and WANs. Moreover, the structure of a network is defined using various network topological organizations, which include bus, ring, star, mesh, tree, and hybrid networks. Using the above two concepts, establish the relation between the various types of networks (PANs, LANs, MANs, and WANs), with the most suited network topology (bus, ring, mesh, tree, and hybrid). For each of the network types (PANs, LANs, MANs, and WANs), you may specify one or more network topology. However, for each of the cases, justify and explain why and how the specific topology is appropriate for the given context. Note: You may use external resources and readings. Make sure that you include proper references to sources that you have used to write the report. Word limit: 200 - 300 words

Most suited topology's for

PAN - Personal Area Network : Star Topology is considered as best suited for personal area networks because PAN is is the blue tooth network and one can use this network by his own devices. One can find these connections very common and they are being used in and automobile as well. One can connect the mobile devices or other devices to the car's audio system. As it is short ranged and the connectivity is done by a single host to control other things , Star topology is best as it all other nodes connect to a single host node .

LAN - Local Area Network : Tree Topology is considered as best suited for local area network because LAN is area which is confined to short range may be have to connect to different devices. A tree topology is a special type of structure in which many connected elements are arranged like the branches of a tree.

MAN - Metropolitan Area Network : Bus Topology is considered as best suited for metropolitan area network because MAN has range in cover of area in between LAN and WAN. All the nodes are connected to a common line which is called a backbone. If the backbone is broken, the entire segment fails. Bus topologies are relatively easy to install and don't require much cabling compared to the alternatives.

WAN - Wide Area Network : Hybrid Topology is considered as best suited for wide area network because WAN area range is large as well as many nodes have to be connected in the network. There may be different network connections depending on the area and ranges in between according to their usage.  For example if in an office in one department ring topology is used and in another star topology is used, connecting these topologies will result in Hybrid Topology (ring topology and star topology).
