Social media mainly contains resources for exchanging and debating knowledge focused on the internet and cell phones. It combines technology, telecommunications, and social media, and provides a medium for communication through words, photographs , films, and music. Social media includes mobile and web-based technologies used to transform communication into interactive dialogue.

Freedom of speech and expression is generally understood as the notion that each person has the natural right to express himself freely across any media and frontiers without outside intervention, such as censorship, and without fear of reprisals, such as threats and persecutions.

Freedom of expression is an intricate right. This is because freedom of speech is not universal and thus brings with it special obligations and responsibilities that could be subject to other limitations laid down in law.

The Internet and social media have become a vital means of communication through which individuals can exercise their right to freedom of expression and exchange information and ideas. In the past year or so, there has been witnessing a growing movement of people around the world advocating change, justice , equality, accountability for the powerful and respect for human rights. The Internet and social media have often played a key role in such movements by enabling people to instantly connect and exchange information and by creating a sense of solidarity

When it comes to restricting government speech in the business world, it is also important to understand that business speech is less protected than other areas of expression. Businesses are subject to consumer protection laws, trademark and copyright laws, regulatory agencies, labor discrimination laws, etc. Well, if history has shown us anything about this right, it is that while most new laws adhere closely to a clearly identified exception, laws are passed from time to time which do not. Either they are overly broad, or they incorporate some otherwise prohibited speech restriction. These laws can be burdensome to your company, but will remain in place until they become challenged in court
