What responsibility do you think the federal government has for funding programs for the prevention and treatment of HIV infection? Do you think the government should pay for national prevention programs or increase financial aid to cities bearing the medical costs of caring for people with HIV?
In my opinion federal government has a huge responsibility and a strong role to play in preventing many cities and states from dreadful epidemic of HIV. Statistic shows and studies have noted that almost 30 -40 million people may get infected with HIV if not acted upon now. But these numbers are not to be certain if necessary measures to prevent the occurance are taken.
Federal government should play a role in many ways
- Conducting programs for awareness of the disease causation and its prevention.
- To make all the necessary resources for testing and treatment easily available
- to fund and make protective devices and measures for safe sex freely aviavailable
- To take strict measures and actions against people who are involved in high risk behavior group like sex workers, drug users etc.
Government should pay for national prevention programs and also should increase financial aid to cities bearing medical costs caring for such people. Funds are to be utilized for all above mentioned activities to prevent the epidemic.
